Orientitis... it's an Orient thing

- local press

The main east, east, east London papers for Os fans are the Hackney Gazette (40p - the daddy), the Waltham Forest Guardian (35p), the Recorder (40p) and the freebie Yellow Advertiser.  The free Independent sometimes has a few bits.   The East London Advertiser has bits from the Gazette.   All of the coverage is generally bland, sometimes sycophantic.  The Recorder probably has the most honest match reports and has the league table.  The Guardian has the best pictures at the moment.

Orient were once mainstays of the old 2nd division.  We have now been stuck in the bottom divisions for nearly 20 years, but you'd never guess it from reading this lot.

Orientitis... it's an Orient thing gives an award to the paper that makes the daftest comment each month - see the OSJAs roll of dishonour.

Gazette makes grand claims for Brush: "O's seem to have rediscovered their mean streak at the back.  After leaking 12 goals in the four league games before he took over, the O's have conceded just one in their last two matches" (a ridiculous thing to say after just 2 games, and conveniently ignoring the 3 conceded v Daggers - OSJA nomination)...  Player news: Downer out for at least 4 months (knee surgery)...
